About Pomo25
Pomo25 is a free online Pomodoro timer built for one purpose: to help you focus without getting in your way. There is no account to create, nothing to install, and no paywall hiding the features you actually need. You open the page, pick a task, and start working.
Why we built it
Most timers fall into one of two traps. Some are so bare that they forget to be accurate β they drift, pause when the tab is hidden, or lose your progress on refresh. Others are so bloated with logins, dashboards, and upsells that the tool disappears behind the product. We wanted something in the middle: a timer that respects the simplicity of the original Pomodoro Technique while being genuinely reliable on modern devices.
What makes it different
- Accurate in the background. The countdown is based on real timestamps and driven by a Web Worker, so it keeps perfect time even when the tab is hidden or your screen is locked.
- Private by design. Your settings, tasks, and stats live only in your browser. We have no servers collecting your data and no account system to leak.
- Genuinely free. Every feature β custom durations, sounds, notifications, background music, task tracking β is available to everyone, with no trial or premium tier.
- Multilingual. Pomo25 works in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, and remembers your preference.
Who it is for
Pomo25 is used by students revising for exams, freelancers billing focused hours, developers pushing through hard problems, and anyone who wants to trade a scattered day for a series of calm, productive sprints. If you have ever opened your laptop with good intentions and lost an hour to tabs and notifications, this tool was built for you.
How it works under the hood
Pomo25 is a static website made with plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript β no heavy frameworks and no build step. Alarms are synthesized in the browser, so there are no audio files to download, and optional background music is embedded from YouTube only when you choose to add it. Because everything runs client-side, the app stays fast and works even on modest connections. If you want to understand the method itself, our complete guide to the Pomodoro Technique covers the history, the science, and how to get the most out of each session.
Support and contact
Pomo25 is kept free thanks to unobtrusive ads and the occasional contribution from people who find it useful. If you have feedback, a bug report, or an idea for a feature, we would genuinely like to hear it. You can reach us by email at investianonimo@gmail.com.
